Dawn of the Company
In 1949, a company called "Koromo Automotive" was founded and later renamed as "Shinmei Industries". Among its shareholders were Eiji Toyoda, who would later become the Chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation. This event became one of the key moments in the history of both companies.
Growth
the business relationship with Toyota began in earnest in 1957. The previous year, in 1956, Shinmei had been recognized for its technical expertise as a Class 2 automobile maintenance facility. Through the manufacture of conveyance equipment and maintenance of in-house vehicles, Shinmei has worked with Toyota to support the development of the automobile industry.

Started business with Toyota Motor Corporation and began maintenance of vehicles used on the premises.
1959 (Showa 34) January
Started manufacturing various conveyors, transportation equipment, and stocking equipment.

Changed the company name to Shinmei Industries Co., Ltd.

Establishment of Toyota Motor Sales Co., Ltd.

Decision to establish a policy of domestically produced cars.

One-stop Service
In 1961, a project was launched to maintain prototype cars produced by Toyota Motor Corporation and provide them to its employees at a lower cost. Ever since Shinmei Industries collaborated with Toyota's human resources department to provide comprehensive support from vehicle maintenance to registration.

Shinmei began manufacturing press molds.
1963 (Showa 38), June
Shinmei established a specialized factory for conveyance equipment and press mold manufacturing in Toyota City (Toyota-shi Tekkodanchi).
1964 (Showa 39), April
Shinmei relocated the headquarters to Koromogahara, Toyota City.
1965 (Showa 40), April
Started designing and manufacturing automation and labor-saving equipment for machine processes, as well as special-purpose machines for automobile assembly, based on the technical capabilities of various conveyance equipment and systems.

Paprika announced.

Corona RT40 announced.

Start of Corolla production.

In the 1970s, during a period of intense international competition, Shinmei provided strong support to Toyota Motor Corporation, which had made large investments mainly in assembly facilities, in preparation for competition with Western automakers. Together, they laid the foundation for Toyota Motor Corporation, which would go on to dominate the world for more than 50 years.

Management Enhancement
In 1984, the company was awarded the Toyota Quality Control Award, a recognition of its excellence in business management. This achievement was the result of Shinmei's adoption of Toyota's production system, which improved its technical capabilities.The Toyota Quality Control Award is given to Toyota member companies.

Tahara Factory was established in Tahara-cho, Atsumi-gun.
May 1984
The company received the Toyota Quality Control Award, demonstrating its excellence in management.
February 1988
Manufacturing and selling of Rack Sorters commenced.
April 1989
The company started selling custom vehicles and restoration products.
July 1982
Toyota Motor Co. and Toyota Motor Sales Co. merged, giving rise to Toyota Motor Corporation.
January 1986
The company achieved a cumulative domestic production of 50 million vehicles.
July 1986
The Toyota Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) System was launched.
April 1989
Toyota Museum opened its doors.
As a measure to overcome the recession caused by the burst of the economic bubble, Toyota Motor Corporation reviewed its policy of concentrating production in one area and established new factories in Hokkaido and Kyushu. In line with this, Shinmei opened a Hokkaido factory and Kyushu sales office. By creating a system that could work smoothly together, they were prepared to overcome the historic recession.
